Dutch 'no' vote sparks EU crisis

The Dutch public are discontent: voting en masse against the EU Constitution — a far cry to the mid-20th century when the Netherlands was a founding member of the European Union's predecessor.
A worrying 61.6 percent of voters said no compared with 38.4 percent who backed the constitution in the 1 June referendum, a margin which stunned the political elite in The Hague and sent shock waves across the continent."
