Dutch cabinet sticks to 'antisocial' plans
RNW | "Just a month ago, Dutch Finance Minister Gerrit Zalm fell victim to a bout of spontaneous laughter when a number of interviewers confronted him with the possibility that the government's policies - which he and his colleagues have been preaching with such conviction - could engender mass opposition within society and public protests. It was Mr Zalm's opinion - one broadly shared by the rest of his cabinet colleagues - that the days of anti-government demonstrations and the disruption brought on by strikes were definitely a thing of the past."
